Here’s some of that oversteer we were talking about the other day. This was actually the less popular power-oversteer. I fully anticipated it so it was easy to pull back in, but if you’re going around corners fast and not paying attention, the S will make you regret it.

Was it me or does it look like it got unsettled by the pavement there?

I still can't believe it is that twitchy. Nothing a little suspension tuning couldn't fix though

Stock Ap1 s2ks (99-01s mostly) will do that, even when you know what you are doing in the right conditions. The quick recovery shows he knows to keep power on

I just punched it before I was fully straightened out; could be slightly damp or loose pavement there also.

I don’t have the grippiest tires either, and they probably need to be deflated a bit with the warmer weather.

Ou of 10 how much would you recommend an S2000. I want one seeing as it’s about as reliable asa sport convertible gets.

Hmm. Well, it suits my needs perfectly in stock form. The engine is not so readily modified since it’s already aggressively tuned, unless you go FI. Stock suspension is great for street and occasional autocross or track. If you have a long or bumpy commute it would be tiring. Exhaust is pretty loud too. I’d say: 10 for sure if you want to stay stock.

I have an LS400 and am planning on getting something newer (probably another LS maybe 460) so this would the weekend car. I wouldn't mind doing a little mods since my current lineup allows me to do really none.

Good ol’ sticky tires are the easiest and best remedy to most situations

Yeah, that’s ... lol. My AP2 will noticeably spin a rear wheel before the diff locks up and the back starts sliding.

So IMO the S2000 is a great weekend car (as opposed to dedicated track or autox) without mods. If you want to lower it or add noise, that’s cool too, although it’s very loud for stock. Just throw on some good rubber and let her rip!

Sweet. Like I said I would like one but I probably need a newer highway blaster LS and a Off Road vehicle before I get a sports car. Hopefully they don’t appreciate too fast.

Heh, that will be very interesting to watch. Porsches are going nuts lately, and even NA Miatas are unusually valuable, in snow states at least.

I have a freind who sells high end cars and has a 17,000 mile 1991 White with white wheels Porsche Speedster with the ugly periscope brake light. $179k...

Well, the Speedster was always an exception... I’m talking “regular” 911's, all the more so the special and exotic stuff.
